Hughie Morrison’s Starzaan was one of our Cheltenham tips last year but didn’t jump well enough to land the spoils in the RSA Chase.
However we would have had an each-way interest on him in today’s 3.10 at Kempton but for the late withdrawal of a couple of runners making this a 15-runner handicap with only three rather than four places.
You […]

Ruby Walsh’s decision to ride Cooldine for Willie Mullins rather than What A Friend for Paul Nicholls in the RSA Chase looks a telling choice.
The Irish raider is a horse that the Cheltenham Festival Tips crew rate very highly following his recent win in the Moriarty Chase, where our ante-post tip Trafford Lad ran below expectations before post-race tests […]

An excellent article in today’s Racing Post Weekender highlights the fact that there really is no great rush to get your Cheltenham bets on now as there is little ante-post value left.
As the ‘Trends Master Class’ says about last year, only winners of three of the 13 races (generally available at this corresponding time) were major steamers in the market.
Indeed […]

Hurricane Fly, the Festival banker for many Irish punters, will miss Cheltenham.
Trainer Willie Mullins has announced that the highly-rated novice hurdle will now be targeted at Punchestown, leaving stablemate Cousin Vinny as the new favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
The Irish punters weren’t alone as the Cheltenham Festival Tips team had him earmarked as one of […]

A fascinating weekend’s racing saw some reputations dented and some improved - with the defeat of Lambourn’s major Cheltenham tip Ainama providing a particular shock.
Lough Derg, Hebridean (might not go to Cheltenham), Nacarat (ditto), Trenchant and Lios A Choill enjoyed good victories but haven’t exactly shook the markets.
Trenchant defeated Ainama but trainer Alan King clearly rates stablemate Walkon much, much higher […]

A host of Cheltenham tips and fancies race over the weekend as the final pieces of the Festival jigsaw begin to fall into place.
Ainama is one that we’ll be particularly interested in watching, following his excellent hurdling debut in January. Nicky Henderson’s inmate returns to Kempton on Saturday for the Dovecote Hurdle and an impressive performance could vault him […]

Paddy Power are renowned for their imaginative special bets and they have come up trumps with a list of wagers to celebrate Paul Nicholls’ media Open Day.
The 11/10 about the master of Ditcheat being top trainer at the meeting caught the eye of the Cheltenham Festival Tips crew - you could do worse than click on […]

Betfred are tempting punters by offering an enhanced acca on the ‘Big Four’ triumphing at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
The bankers are Binocular (Champion Hurdle), Master Minded (Queen Mother), Kasbah Bliss (World Hurdle) and Kauto Star (Gold Cup) so this is an offer that will definitely appeal to punters.
However Betfred’s Dave Metcalf is unworried and said: ”We’re happy to go 20/1 […]

This Saturday sees the Racing Post Chase take place at Kempton and we are awaiting key info before potentially having an account bet - so check back on Wednesday.
Rcaehorse owner and legendary punting figure Harry Findlay has taken all the value about his Big Fella Thanks but we’re looking elsewhere.
As for Cheltenham tips, we’d remind all readers that […]

Cheltenham Festival Tips’ betting portfolio got off to a profitable start as Notre Pere landed the place part of our each-way bet on him at 10/1 for the Hennessy Irish Gold Cup.
Neptunes Collonges had his measure today but our 50/1 voucher for the big one at Cheltenham holds plenty of appeal.
The extra distance at Prestbury Park will suit him perfectly […]
