More race meetings than you can shake a stick at today but nothing stands out as being worth a decent bet - the Dubai World Cup card is not for us for punting.

Including our ante-post bets, we made a profit at the 2011 Cheltenham Festival but it was nowhere as good as our performance in 2009 and 2010.
Wins for Sizing Europe, Junior, Chicago Grey and Sizing Australia were supplemented by a good number of placed each-way bets but, all in all, we’re a bit disappointed.

This is one of favourite races at the Festival, although this year’s renewal is somewhat trickier than we’ve seen in recent years, with a host of strong runners.

Alarazi has to be respected after his fine win at the weekend while if you’re looking for bigger prices Cockney Trucker could run well for Philip Hobbs.

We really fear Paul Nicholls’ Join Together in this three mile contest although we’ve had an interest in one at a bigger price.

Of the old favourites, Imperial Commander is probably the best option but it may time for a changing of the guard and we’ve had an account bet on an outsider.
However Kempes is a far from forlorn hope for JP McManus.
