China to Rock rivals

We considered getting involved with an account bet on China Rock in today’s Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown but have decided to hold back this time.
Mouse Morris has great faith in his inmate and a recent run over hurdles should have put him cherry-ripe for a crack at a below-par renewal of the Grade One […]

Hennessy preview …

The National Hunt season takes another step forward with Hennessy day at Newbury.
The big race (3.10) is a tricky puzzle with a potent mix of second season chasers and more experienced combatants - it’s not a vintage renewal but it’s very competitive.
Our idea of the winner is Aiteen Thirtythree, representing the all-conquering Ruby Walsh-Paul Nicholls […]

2.05 Neptune Investments Hurdle

Quel Esprit has been heavily supported to give master trainer Willie Mullins a third successive victory in this event and will no doubt attract a huge Irish on-course gamble.
While we respect him and Rite Of Passage, both of them look poor value bets.

2.40 RSA Chase

Betting is about winning not sentiment so we’ll overlook the horse that has impressed us the most this whole season, as we feel his odds are too short in this tough test.
That despite the fact that his stable think Long Run is a banker.

3.20 Champion Chase

Master Minded seemed back to top form with a breathtaking performance at Newbury last time out so we won’t either oppose him or back him.
We expect him to win but his price looks short, even for a horse of his undoubted class.

4.00 Coral Cup

Our gamble on Ninetieth Minute in this race last year is a sweet memory and we’re looking to follow up with another 16/1 chance that will need to defy a break from the racecourse.
However this time we’ll look to England not Ireland.

4.40 Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle

The favourite Notus De La Tour warrants much respect, especially considering David Pipe’s record in the race, but our main bet in the race is on a 33/1 shot.

5.15 Champion Bumper

Opposing the Irish in this race is akin to madness, with the raiders taking 14 of the 17 runnings of this superb Flat finale to day two of jumping’s top meeting.
We’re ready to be accused of madness!

Irish to cheer home Paddy

Our Irish guru has lumped on Shinrock Paddy in the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle and, with our form expert in full agreement, we’re getting stuck into him too.
The 8/1 with Paddy Power and Boylesports must be taken.

Value still remains on tips

All three of our current ante-post tips for Cheltenham have been cut in price but, fortunately for those of you visiting here for the first time, value odds still remain for all three.
Carlito Brigante is 6/1 for the Triumph, Sizing Europe is 11/2 for the Arkle and some 20/1 is available on Buena Vista in the Pertemps Final - all still […]

Europe sizes up Arkle prize

It’s time for our third ante-post bet on the Cheltenham Festival as we think Sizing Europe provides a mouth-watering value pick at 13/2 for the Arkle Trophy.
Stan James (Free £25 Bet) and Paddy Power (Bet £10, Get £20 Free Bet) offer those appetising odds.
