Chase Cheltenham cheer

Cheltenham festival trials abound today as a whole host of fascinating races take place across Britain and Ireland.
Big Buck’s is clearly star of the show but, as usual these days, is no betting proposition and therefore we will have took elsewhere for our selections.

Time to press up …

We may be having more bets at Newbury today but, first things first, it’s time to press up our bet on Carruthers in the Hennessy Gold Cup (3.05).
Ladbrokes go 20/1 and a quarter the odds five places so get on each-way - he’s massive value compared to the likes of Denman.

Captain’s Naas target

Captain Cee Bee may have let us down as he fell at Leopardstown over Christmas, when tipped on our sister site Bet On Horses, but we remain big fans of the promising chaser.

£1,320 profit at Cheltenham!

We’ve done a bit of blowing our own trumpets at the top of the page by proclaiming our £1,320 profit at Cheltenham - that’s to a £100 stake per point (our max is 4 pts).
Let’s hope there’s more to follow at Aintree and on the Flat, although it’s a good job we pulled back from […]

Time for 25/1 National bet

We’ve had our eye on a runner in the Grand National for some time and, as he is getting sustained support for the race for the second time in a week, it’s time to act.
We are advising a 0.5 points each-way bet on State Of Play at 25/1.
Click here and you’ll get FIVE places and £100 worth […]

Big Eared to build funds

Big Eared Fran has been the subject of good reports from our ‘man in the know’ at the David Pipe yard so we’ll have a one point account bet on him in the 2.05 Sandown.
Betfair are significantly higher on him than fixed odds bookies so we’ll punt at around 13/2 with them - click here […]

Pipe steamers merit attention

We’ll be keeping a close eye on two David Pipe hurdlers in the markets and racecourse entries over the next week - Buena Vista and Big Eared Fran.
We have had very positive vibes about the pair and both have attracted cash for potential Cheltenham Festival engagements.
Big Eared Fran is a fascinating entrant for Saturday’s Imperial Cup (not […]

Big move for our 50/1 Gold gamble

Time for a bit of back-patting - we told you to back Notre Pere at 50/1 for the Gold Cup last week and today he’s been slashed to a best-priced 25/1.
Articles by Mark Winstanley and Tom Segal (Pricewise) in the latest Weekender sang the same song as we did nine days ago!
Our one point each-way punt (four points is our […]

Denman return saves the day

Saturday’s racecourse return of Denman will excite every fan of jumps racing as we wait to see whether last year’s Gold Cup hero retains his ability, despite suffering a problem with an irregular heartbeat.

Paul Nicholls seems concerned about the move of venue to Kempton and the each-way thieves would have been looking to oppose the brilliant […]

Market move for Gold Cup fancy

In these days of betting exchanges, beating the odds is almost as important as backing the winner (not quite, obviously) so we’re in a good position with yesterday’s investment on Notre Pere for the Hennessy Irish Gold Cup.
The 10/1 that we grabbed is now long gone and the current best price is 6/1 - therefore profit […]

Arkle contenders on target

Two leading contenders for the Arkle Chase enhanced their claims over the weekend - both Kalahari King and Imsingingtheblues remain totally in the mix after their efforts.
The latter was another lucrative winner for the Paul Nicholls’ yard when scoring in the Williamhill.com Handicap Chase and will now be kept at home until the Festival.
Ferdy Murphy was less […]
