Andy Holding is one of the best-known names in racing tipping. A professional punter and pundit, he tips for Oddschecker, where he is nicknamed “The Pundit’s Pundit” and is described as their most profitable tipster.
His Cheltenham Festival tips are among the most followed in the build-up to March, so here is what you need to know about how he picks his selections and where to find them.
How Andy Holding picks his tips
Holding’s selections are built on data rather than gut feel. His tips are informed by his own speed figures and sectional times, taken from every UK and Irish meeting across both the jumps and Flat seasons.
That approach is particularly useful at Cheltenham, where the undulating track and the stiff uphill finish expose horses that have been flattered by how a race was run. Speed figures and sectionals help separate a genuinely strong performance from one that simply benefited from a slow pace or a favourable setup.
Andy Holding Speed Figures
Alongside his Oddschecker tips, Holding runs the Andy Holding Speed Figures website with colleagues Sam Turner and Andy Bate. The service gives subscribers access to the figures behind his analysis, so punters can apply the same method to their own selections.
Where to find Andy Holding’s Cheltenham tips
His tips are published on Oddschecker. During the Festival, Oddschecker has offered subscribers early access to his selections the evening before racing, with tips becoming generally available later on the day. Check Oddschecker directly for the current arrangements and any subscription costs, as these can change from year to year.
Is Andy Holding a good tipster?
Oddschecker has reported Holding as its most profitable tipster, with a profit of more than 900 points since 2018 as of March 2024. That is a strong long-term record, but no tipster wins every week, and past results are no guarantee of future returns. Treat any tipster’s selections as one input into your own decisions, and only stake what you can afford to lose.
