Grand Annual Chase Tips

Last years’ winner Maskada, an easy victor at 22/1, returns for the 2024 edition of the Grand Annual Chase and should be among the considerations at 13/2. Targeted at this race once more, there’s no reason he can’t put up a good showing.

The Evan Williams trained Liberty Hunter, under Harry Cobden, heads the betting at the moment at 11/2. A 17-runner field will be no distraction to this classy horse who boasts excellent recent form.

Willie Mullins enters just one in this, the smart Sain Roi who has an excellent record at the Festival, and at 6/1 is one to consider. Likewise Madara, trained by Sophie Leech and with a course and distance victory to his name and who looks to have more to offer.

Sa Fureur runs for Gordon Elliot and is one with place prospects who could easily spring a surprise at 15/2, and another course and distance winner to look closely at is Rachael Blackmore’s mount Dancing On My Own, an 11/1 contender with plenty to offer.

A horse further down the scale that is attracting good money is Gavin Cromwell’s King Of Prs. A convincing winner at Limerick on Boxing Day, while he has failed to get back to the front in two starts since the application of headgear is notable. Already backed in from 22/1 to 14/1 keeping an eye on the market may be prudent.

Not an easy race to call and one where a surprise is likely, there’s plenty of choice here for win and each way options.
