Pertemps Final Tips

Good Time Jonny won this from Salvador Ziggy last year, and a strong 26-horse field assembles for the second race of the day. This is the most difficult of all today’s races to call, so let’s have a look at some of the most likely contenders.

Gordon Elliot has a great record in this race, and enters two. Of these it is current favourite Cleatus Poolaw who is the most interesting, and having seen constant improvement over the last few races justifies his 6/1 value.

The Walsh yard enters another potential winner in Gaoth Chuil. This horse has run well in similar events and needs consideration. Nigel Twiston-Davies saddles Cuthbert Dibble, a horse we like a lot and one that is a very strong candidate for the win, while Nicky Henderson’s Chantry House may not be the force of old but in this competition and with blinkers could well be a good bet at 9/1.

Springwell Bay runs for Jonjo O’Neill and has every chance on form at 12/1, and we also like the look of Emitom at a surprising 18/1. If a surprise is coming we believe the Alan King runner is among the likely culprits.

Eric McNamara enters Alpesh Amin. A great victory in his last run sets up the form for this race, and at 22/1 we strongly recommend an each way bet.

Impossible to call but plenty with chances, many at prices that are very attractive.
