Mares Chase tips – Alternatives to Dino Blue?

A 2.5 mile race, the Mares Chase will see 11 top clase mares at the post for the penultimate race of the Cheltenham Festival. Won last year by Impervious, this year’s field makes for fascinating reading.

Leading the betting is Dino Blue, and Willie Mullins’ charge justifies her 11/10 price and will be difficult to beat. Stablemate Allegorie De Vassy is perhaps the main challenger, but has a lot to do to catch Dino Blue.

Gavin Cromwell saddles two horses of interest in this contest. Limerick Lace comes here in excellent form and also taking weight off both the leading Mullins runners. Brides Hill is the other, and also arrives with form in hand and a good chance of a strong run. These two are very much worth a market check.

We believe the rest are fighting for places. Gordon Elliot’s yard is in good form so Riviere D’etel and Harmonia Maker need looking at and offer big prices. The only other runner worth considering is Marsh Wren, trained by Stuart Edmunds and on paper at least looking like she has a mountain to climb.

Barring any drama Dino Blue should take this with something in hand.
